The Masters Chambers Pilot Project

The Masters Chambers Pilot Project

The Supreme Court of BC: Masters Chambers Pilot Project - Regarding Civil and Family Proceedings (Effective June 19, 2023)

The Supreme Court of BC'S Masters Chambers Pilot Project (the "Project") allows for the submission of electronic application records through Court Services Online (“CSO”) for Masters chambers applications scheduled for 30 minutes or less. Details about the Project and how to submit electronic application records for Masters chambers can be found in the Masters Chambers Pilot Project Notice. The project began on Vancouver Island and in Powell River on August 15, 2022 and as of June 19, 2023 will be expanded  to the following Interior Region locations: Cranbrook, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nelson, Penticton, Rossland, Salmon Arm and Vernon.

The Masters Chambers Pilot Project Notice is intended for counsel and their support staff (including paralegals and legal administrative assistants) who prepare and submit application records for Supreme Court Masters chambers. The primary goal of the Notice is to ensure that counsel are aware of the Project and the next stage of implementation in the Interior Region. Of equal importance is the participation of counsel (and their support staff) in providing feedback via surveys. The Court will consider feedback received as they continue to evaluate the Project and look for ways to encourage counsel to file electronic application records during the Project.
