The BC Paralegal Association (BCPA) is a not-for-profit, volunteer, organization of over 900+ paralegals, students and law-related organizations. Formed in 1979, the BCPA promotes the professional development, continuing education, and networking of paralegals in British Columbia.
The BCPA advocates on behalf of paralegals to help get the most out of their profession. With representation across the province, the BCPA gives a unified voice to paralegals in firms, at in-house roles, in government ministries, as contractors or students, and educational administrators.
The BCPA acts as a job market information source and offers professional development and educational resources including curriculum consultation for our recognized educational partner institutions. The BCPA also supports paralegal education with the award of student bursaries! The BCPA also publishes, "The Paralegal Press" for our membership.
With the proposed immersion of the licensing of paralegals in BC by the Province and/or Law Society of BC, the BCPA will continue to provide key representation to government and governing bodies as our profession evolves. The BCPA is committed to sharing information on this compelling development via our social media platforms and website. For inquiries regarding licensing of Paralegals, please visit the Licensing page.
We encourage all members to get involved, share their ideas and help shape the future of our profession!
